Many churches are reaching out to us right now who are having to suspend gatherings whether they want to or not and don’t have alternative options to stay connected. I personally know how frustrating it can be for churches with little to no tech stack or for those who do not have a tech-savvy person around to get something up and operational, especially if you are in a pinch to get something going quickly like most churches right now. If you are an A/G church in need or know of a church in need, please let us help you: https://faithlife.com/church-online! Right now, we are waiving the paywall for online giving for the next six months to help churches who run the risk of taking a financial hit. Additionally, has been doing daily live training sessions to help people get up and running within 24 hours, so they don’t have to miss their next gathering even in a pinch. Please know our heart in this is to serve the church, and with the Assemblies of God being such a significant ministry partner, we want to serve you and your churches in every way possible. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of any further help to your churches who may not be able to gather.

Adding the Assemblies of God Resources Collection Document to Your Logos

I have had several people enquire about how to view, search, and utilize the collection of resources that Faithlife digitized and put into the BEP Edition of Logos for the Assemblies of God. So, here is a guide to show you how to add the Collection Document and then use that Collection like a pro!

              1. Click “Docs”.
              2. Click “Groups”.
              3. Look for the Collection Document I shared with the BEP Group called “Assemblies of God Resources | Bible Engagement Project”.
              4. Right click the Collection Document and select “Add to your docs”.

You have now added the collection to your Personal Documents. You can view/edit the list of resources in the Collection Document by selecting it in the “Docs” section of Logos.

Now, here is where it gets really cool!

              1. Click the Search button (magnifying glass next to the Go Box).
              2. In the Search tab click “Basic”. This does a basic search of everything in your library, not just the Bible.
              3. Click “Everything” because we want to now do a search restricted to our new collection.
              4. Click and select the “Assemblies of God Resources | Bible Engagement Project” Collection.

Now you can do a search and have it limited to those specific resources in that collection!

One more cool trick now that you have the Collection Document in your Logos:

              1. Click “Guides” in the top menu.
              2. Click and select “Passage Guide” to open a new Passage Guide.

              1. Type in any passage of Scripture to populate a Passage Guide report.
              2. Once the report is populated the click “Add” in the top right corner of the tab.
              3. Find and click “Collections” to select and add the Collections Tool to your Passage Guide.

              1. Scroll until you find the “Collections” Tool you just added to your Passage Guide.
              2. Hover over the Collections Tool to make the “Settings” menu show up and click “Settings”.
              3. Click and select the “Assemblies of God Resources” | Bible Engagement Project” Collection Document.

Now, anytime you are using the Passage Guide to study a section of Scripture, this Collection Tool will automatically report any content relevant to your selected passage of Scripture and it will be limited to the Collection Document you have selected. You can sort these results by Articles, Ranked, Resource, or Count.

I hope you are now seeing how powerful Collection Documents can be!

Here are a couple of other cool points while we are at it:

              • This Collections Tool, and where you arrange it in your Passage Guide, will be remembered every time you use the Passage Guide, so feel free to customize the Passage Guide however you like. Make it your own!
              • You can add as many Collections Tools to your Passage Guide as you like. I have several in my personal Logos library utilizing different Collections.

              Enjoy!

              1. When preparing a Bible lesson, would you still use sermon editor or is there a better tool?
                1. Yes, I'll be speaking to a small group and would love to have slides and a handout (possibly), I like discussion in my lessons, so I need questions that would allow for that. Any guidance or advice would be helpful.
                2. I would definitely recommend using the Sermon Editor then, . The Logos 101: Sermon Editor training on this page is a great place to start. https://www.gotostage.com/channel/bep
                3. Thanks for your help!
