  • How do I add Background Audio to a video clip? I've added a video clip and want a background audio file to play during it. I click on the blur circle with arrow to the right of the clip and choose background USE BACKGROUND AUDIO, but I cannot find where to add a background audio file to this single item. Am I missing something here or is it not possible to add a background audio file to be played during a single video items in the service?
    1. Hello. I work for a church and we use proclaim for the tv's around campus. My question is why do the keep going to black screen? I believe they run for a few hours then undoubtedly they all result in a black screen. Any ideas of what I could be doing wrong?
      1. There could be a number of factors causing this. To help us help you, please share more info about your set-up, . What method are you using to send the sign feed to the TVs? An internal web browser on the TV? A Firestick? If it is an internal web browser on the TV it is probable that the TV has a time out setting. You may or may not be able to change this in the TV's settings.
    2. I am looking for a while to make it so that, when the pastor is going through his sermon (which was sent from logos), that on the live stream slide, whenever we move from one slide to the next, it will only show that live stream slide for 10 seconds, then go away. Right now, I have one person running two computers (Proclaim and OBS) as well as sound and I’m trying to automate things as much as possible in Proclaim so all they have to do is simply move through the service slides. Any ideas on how to do this?
      1. There are a couple of ways you can handle this. First; Within Proclaim: I tested this and it works. I set up a new NDI output called XP Background. Then I set OBS up to use that NDI input instead of the regular slides input. After that I created my slides and duplicated each. On the first slide I set it to automatically advance in 10 seconds. Note in my screenshot the blue arrow and the red arrow point to slides that say 10 secs. I set the XP Background to Slide. I also marked each slide XPBG, for transparent background, and Reg BG for the ones that have the slide. In my screenshot, when I am on air, when I advance from the slide that says, "Welcome to Mt. Lassen" it moves to the Romans 12:1 Reg BG slide and sends the slide to your normal house screen, it also sends the slide (as the background) to OBS. In 10 seconds it will advance to the Romans 12:1 XPBG slide and the output to OBS ins now transparent. In OBS you just place the Proclaim XPBG NDI on top of your camera and it automatically leaves the slide on for 10 seconds. Second; you could consider a plugin for OBS. There is a scene switcher, link below. You may be able to set it so that when it detects a change in your NDI input from Proclaim that it would change scenes to a "Slides Only" scene, then wait 10 seconds and then change back to the camera view scene. https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/advanced-scene-switcher.395/

It does not appear the I can tweak a slide like this if it comes from the logos sermon builder....which is one of the reasons we recently switched to proclaim from ew...integration!

Hmmmm, I don't have Sermon Builder, I can't justify the cost since I only fill the pulpit 2 or 3 times a year as a fill in. I've been using Logos since v1.6 . . . Hey, maybe the wonderful people at Faithlife can gift me with a Silver package as a thank you for such a long history??? OK, maybe not. I am filling next month as part of my celebration of the 30th anniversary of my Damascene Conversion. God opened my eyes very powerfully on May 5, 1994. As far as Sermon Builder slides go, I don't think I have a solution besides a scene switcher in OBS.
    3. Hi all - where are files like backgrounds, photos used in slideshows, etc. stored? My Proclaim program is really slow and I am wondering if I need to delete backgrounds I have customized but not longer use. Thanks!
      1. you can find some here: https://media.faithlife.com/ and toggle on/off what you're looking for.
      2. Hi , I don't think that the old files are slowing Proclaim down. They are stored in the cloud, the only files that are resident on your presentation computer are those that the current the presentation is using. What part of Proclaim is running slowly? Perhaps the people in this forum can help.

If I could make a request for this part of the page; it would be very useful if there was a tagging/labelling system in association with the topic of the question people are asking, i.e. 'displays', 'cameras', 'backgrounds', 'live streaming', etc. And even having sub-topics under each one. I think this would be a very useful feature to have in this forum for all users and administrators, and would love to see it implemented.
    5. I'm having problem adding proclaim to my roland 8hd

I am trying to use video backgrounds that loop. Whenever the loop happens, it will show a black frame for a second. How can I stop it from showing the black frame?
        1. I have the same problem with some of my loops that I have created or downloaded. Sorry but I haven't found a fix for this and I hope proclaim will.
        2. Do you have access to a video editor, & ? Check the downloaded files in that program and see if there is are black frames at the beginning. You may be able to delete the black frames and render the loops again. I create all of the loops we use, and don't see this happening with those loops. I just tested a loop of the Aurora Borealis that I made years ago, it is only 11 seconds long and it plays over and over without a problem.

This doesn't happen with every presentation, its random. I use davinci resolve studio, the loops I make don't have a black frame at the end cut. Yes I did that one time and caught it lesson learned. Most of the little quirks I don't worry about. Maybe I will start looking deeper into this when I happens.
      2. I am getting an error message trying to import PowerPoint into a service. I am using a Mac and getting the message "an unexpected error has occurred ". I am following the steps from the Proclaim help desk but still not having success.
        1. I just wanted to say a huge word of “thanks” to for his recent help. Without him, I’d be beating my head against a wall still. For anyone that is running proclaim on a pc and running obs on another computer (mac or pc), it IS possible to MIDI signals over network to tell OBS what to do. If on a mac, you can use the built in midi over network. For pc, use the rtpmidi, which can be found here. https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/rtpmidi.html Once you have to two computers “talking” to each other, and install obs-midi-mg, I would make sure to reboot the obs computer. This is what got me hung up. From there, when you setup your signals (I would recommend using stage direction as was recommended elsewhere on here), make sure to hit “preview” in proclaim. In obs, when you are in the area where you are setting up your bindings and the note, make sure you are clicked on “listen once”. When you hit preview in proclaim, it should change it to the correct settings in OBS and switch the binding off. I set mine up as a note in proclaim, not a program change. In OBS, with the obs-midi-mg, you can tell the program what action to take based on the note it receives. Ultimately, the note is just a “signal” on a specific setting. I don’t know if it works pc to pc over network, but there’s no reason to think it won’t, since it will work pc to mac over network, using midi. And thank you Proclaim for making a great product that doesn’t cost an arm and leg!
          1. Can I add a video as foreground so I can change the size of the video? We are trying to make it fit our digital wall and the resolution sizes are not the size of our wall.
            1. Even if you could stretch the video to fill a screen with different proportions, you wouldn't want to. That would distort the video and make it look strange.
            2. Hi Nancy. I understand. I don’t want to stretch a video. The problem is we have a digital wall that does not match any of the selectable resolutions. If a video could be adjustable, I could make it work. I don’t see this feature. I love proclaim and want to drop propresenter, but the adjustable video feature would make the decision easy
            3. Ah, that makes sense. Your basic problem is that Proclaim doesn't handle a nonstandard aspect ratio, and you're trying to find a work-around. I'm afraid that's well out of my expertise, so I'll have to defer to someone more knowledgeable.
